I. Core Characteristics of CPP Metallized Film
CPP (Cast Polypropylene Metallized Film) is made by vacuum metallizing polypropylene film produced through a casting process. It combines the advantages of both a CPP substrate and a metallic aluminum layer. Specific characteristics are as follows:
Physical and Mechanical Properties: Good stiffness and rigidity, not easily deformed, and tear resistance superior to PE film, suitable for high-speed printing and lamination; Excellent heat-sealing performance (especially the CPP heat-sealing layer), allowing direct heat sealing without additional adhesive or lamination; Wide temperature range (-20℃~120℃), capable of withstanding high-temperature sterilization (such as pasteurization of some food packaging), and not easily brittle at low temperatures.
Barrier Properties: The aluminized layer (typically 300~500Å thick) effectively blocks oxygen (OTR≤1cm³/(m²・24h・0.1MPa)), water vapor (WVTR≤1g/(m²・24h)), and light (especially ultraviolet light), extending the shelf life of packaged goods; Barrier properties are slightly lower than VMPET, but far superior to un-aluminized CPP or PE film.
Other characteristics: Medium transparency (silver-gray after aluminizing, transparent in un-aluminized areas), good gloss, metallic texture, enhancing packaging aesthetics; Strong chemical stability, resistant to acids, alkalis, and oils, suitable for packaging oily or acidic foods; Lightweight (0.91g/cm³), lighter than VMPET (1.4g/cm³), reducing transportation and packaging costs; Good recyclability (polypropylene material), more environmentally friendly than some composite films.
